This morning, people from AED came to attend our weekly seminar. As usual, we talked about our experiences in Maryland, this time I told them that I was writing a blog and I showed it to them on screen, I pointed to some pictures about academic contents, school visits, friendly meetings and leisure time activities. The topic of the second part of the seminar was about “clickers”, Professor Spenser Benson gave us information on the practical use of this technological device and made reference to the collaborative learning component that it may offer. For instance, students are asked to answer a question just by clicking on this device and the result is projected on screen graphically. After the seminar, AED came to Mazza to see our apartments and after that we left for Washington DC.
This evening, Bill Gates and his wife Melinda were awarded the 2010 J.William Fulbright Prize for International Understanding and we were invited to attend the ceremony and the reception. We spent a great evening at the Library of Congress and of course, we competed for our best picture next this famous couple. It was a pleasure to meet Norma Gonzalez there, she is the head of the Fulbright Commission in Argentina.
